SPRINGin’ on Some Curb Appeal!

11:15:00 PM

Way back in Fall, I dreamed of how I would update my home’s curb appeal come spring. Our home was built in 2003, and we are the second owners, we bought it in 2005.  This picture was taken years ago, probably a year or two after we moved in.  (10 points if you can spot our kitty in this picture!)
I opened up this picture of my home on the PAINT program and started updating … (If you can’t tell by the picture, I’m not a pro at this—but you get the idea, right?).  I wanted to add shutters to my kitchen window, paint the front door black, get new house numbers, paint our driveway gate, get a new lighting fixture and install window flower boxes.
Well since I had the day off and it was one of the first official “springy” days. . . I was able to accomplish part of my list!

I painted the fence:
Yeah . . . it was in bad shape!

I painted the door and the surrounding trim:

and I made a cute little hanging “basket o’ hydrangeas” for my new door! (Sorry, couldn’t help myself--had to get that in before St. Patrick's day was over)

Simple and “springy”-(I’m liking this word today) More on my “basket o’ hydrangeas” tomorrow.
So, just a recap:
Here’s my house in let’s say 07.image

Here’s my house after my work today:
I bought my flower boxes---just need to paint them . . . still need to buy my new house numbers, and then my gardening planning will commence, because it doesn’t look so “appealing” with that dead grass and empty flower beds! But, (sigh) it’s a start!
I’m pleased with what I was able to accomplish today!
Until next time . . .
