Hi friends! Do you realize how quickly Valentine's day will be upon us? I can't even believe we are a month into the new year! I'm usually a bit behind and am always looking for a last minute gift idea, but I realized that this candy bar arrangement post has become quite popular in the past week, so I figured that I would create a Valentine's themed tutorial, using the ever so popular Rae Dunn clay mug.
First off, gather your supplies:
- Mug or container
- Foam (I used packing foam, but floral arrangement foam would be perfect)
- Liner: paper treat sacks, tissue paper, or that shredded paper would be great also
- Hot glue gun
- Popsicles sticks or wooden skewers, decorative straws may work and look really cute too.
- Candy of your choice
- Cellophane gift bags to wrap
- Decorative stickers (scrap booking supplies, found in Dollar Spot @Target)
Line your mug with the paper sack or liner of your choice.
I had to push these down a bit as they stood a little too tall for my liking.
I then filled the mug with packing foam.
I placed a few of the sticks in to get a sense of layout.
I then played around with how I wanted to arrange the candy on the sticks, the possibilities are endless!
To give the arrangement a bit of dimension, I glued some sticks together to give some of the the candy some height.
I chose a mini box of chocolates for my centerpiece.
