Christmas S’mores: Great Recipe to Make with the kids!

I found this yummy, delicious and fun Peep S’mores recipe around Easter time on Recipezaar.com. You use Marshmallow Peeps, HONEY MAID graham crackers and melted chocolate.  (Using Honey Made or name brand graham crackers is crucial, as I tried to use store brand once before and they were all broken before I opened them and didn’t break into nice even pieces like I need them to).

They were so good on Easter, that I figured why not make them again for Christmas??  (I am so glad they make Peeps for other holidays besides Easter now, I LOVE them!)! 

(Not sure why I took a picture of the parchment paper as it is not needed, but can be used to place the s’mores on when you’re done making them.)

For the Christmas tree peeps, I used a whole half of a square of graham cracker, because the peep is so fat that it could barely fit on the smaller piece–but for the Snowmen, I used a quarter of a piece of graham cracker.

You can also take the extra chocolate and drizzle over the tops to hide your sons messy chocolate finger prints on the nice white snowmen add a decorative touch, yuuuummmmm!  You can eat them at room temperature or heat them up in the mircowave for 8-10 seconds.  Please do yourself a favor and make these asap, they are so good!

Ingredients(Directly from Recipezaar.com)

1 (11 1/2 ounce) package of hershey’s milk chocolate chips
3 (16 count) packages marshmallow peeps
1 (14 1/2 ounce) package of honey maid graham crackers

Directions

1  Take apart all Peeps from packages and break graham crackers into 48 fourths.

2  Place graham crackers pieces onto cookie sheets lined with wax paper.

3  Place 3/4 pkg of chocolate chips into a bowl and melt according to instructions on package.

4  Dip the bottom of each Peep bunny into the melted chocolate and place on a piece of graham cracker. Continue to do this until all of the Peeps are used.

5  Put the cookie sheets of Peeps into the refridgerator for 15 minutes so the chocolate can cool and harden.

6  Melt the rest of the chocolate chips and pour the melted chocolate into a plastic zipper bag.

7  Cut a tiny piece off the corner to make the chocolate drizzle.

8  Carefully squeeze the bag to drizzle melted chocolate onto each individual Peep S’more.

9  Place them into the refridgerator again so the chocolate can harden.

10  Peeps S’mores can be eaten at room temperature or warmed up in the microwave for 8 – 10 seconds.

    We are s'mores peep lovin' fools over here so this is PERFECT for us! And these babies have to be half off by now so I'm going to run out tomorrow and surprise my kiddos with this little post-Christmas treat. You know, because we really haven't had ENOUGH treats yet. My goodness. I am avoiding my scale like a plague right now!

    Beth, you are not alone! I made mine with four packs of Peeps, and I hate to admit it, but I ate the majority of them! Planning my diet for after the New Year :)I like them unheated, and with the chocolate hardened and the Peeps stale, lol.
