Remember this post about me piecing together a dinette set? Well, apparently I didn’t. As I was going through some of my blog pics, I realized that I never posted the “after” of my pedestal table, and the chairs have since gotten another makeover too!
I primed it using spray primer. My husband went ahead and stained the top(it wasn’t the dark walnut that I was hoping for-so eventually it will get another makeover, but it will do for now).
Love the shininess of it!
and it didn’t cover the OOPs! spot, read about that HERE
I think I told you about my glazing attempt here, well I used the same “technique” (and I use that word as lightly as possible, lol) with this table.
Good old acrylic craft paint, diluted . . .
and sponge-brushed on liberally . . .
Very liberally as you can see.
Let it sit for a few minutes, and wipe lightly with a damp rag.
Wipe even more lightly in the places you want to emphasize. Like these creases and grooves
.
Now, here’s a pic to show you a before of the table and chairs.
Here’s an After of the 1st installment of the updated chair-the delusional one, where I thought I was capable of keeping drop cloth cushion covers with my 3 kids-yeah right!
Here’s the Updated version:
Still want to go a little darker with the stain, but I’ll get to it . . .eventually.
I love the two toned look of the table! I have been searching high and low for a piece of furniture I can transform such as this. The chairs look great painted white. The new color really brightens up your room!
Beautifully done. It looks like a brand new set. I'm about to do a make over on a very similar table.
WOW! That is fantastic! It looks Fabulous!
