In my last post I showed you my E.A.T letters/sign for above my kitchen cabinets. Well, at a recent trip to Salvation Army, I came across these adorable wooden trivets.
I bought all three of them at .49 a piece! Can’t beat that, right?!!
I had no intentions on actually using them as trivets, but more so for use as wall art in my kitchen. I spray painted them with Krylon spray paint.
Then I decided that I wanted to go ahead and give them a similar “glaze” treatment as I did with my EAT sign.
I dripped some of my raw umber craft paint along the trivet . . . .
and with a dry brush I spread the craft paint in and dabbed it in the deeper crevices. I then let it sit for a few minutes.
Then I dried my brush with a rag and dry-brushed the trivets to get the desired look I was going for.
I love the way they look and how they tie all of the blue-ish accents together in my kitchen, with an antique feel!
So happy to have found you yesterday thru Noelle….I love these wooden trivets above your stove. I have a similar space above my stove and I walk through the thrift stores usually twice a week. I'll be on the lookout for something similar. Thanks for sharing your creativity. Beautiful!
