Hello and thank you for stopping by. If you are visiting from Seeking Lavender Lane, welcome! I am so thrilled to be joining a group of talented and lovely ladies for the #SpringHomeLovetour. Showing how we transition from winter and welcome spring into our homes. There are 16 of us total, so for some epic spring decor inspiration, be sure to check out the blog list at the bottom of this post. For me, spring is a clean slate, where fresh greenery, flowers, and lighter/brighter colors take center stage.
Since we live in the Northeast there is nothing in bloom at the moment, but that’s where fresh flowers, stems and greenery come in handy to make your home feel light and airy.
The living room windows went curtain-less for early spring. I may keep them down for a while longer as it helps to make the space feel brighter and more open.
I went pretty simple with our front door and entry, by adding a basic grapevine wreath with a DIY color block design.
I think it’s funny because this particular wreath is sort of egg shaped, so it’s rather fitting for spring. I would show you my new spring door mat, but it’s covered in snow, lol.
In the entry I kept my round rattan mirror because I love it so much and I added a little white gilded bunny planter with a small jade plant and some palm stems in a $2 thrift store vase.
I
played around with the idea of removing/switching around the gallery
wall and changing out the frames, but after asking around on Instagram, the majority of friends said to keep it as is, so it will stay a bit longer.
However, if you saw my last post, you know that I did swap out the large mirror that was above the sofa for many years, with some DIY artwork.
My sofa pillows stayed the same but I added a few pops of yellow and one color block pillow to tie all the colors together. I also swapped out my old wing chair with this new
chair my husband bought for my graduation–the older wing chair moved to
the
basement family room.
In the dining area I added another diy painting over the new dining table and picked up some pussy willow branches from the market.
Our home will go on the market next month and I’ve been itching to paint the dining area and kitchen white, but I’m still debating on whether or not it is worth the investment or time—our ceilings are high!
Pretty pink tulips, a bowl full of lemons and beautiful farm fresh eggs (given to me by my work colleague), topped off this little spring vignette. I love how the mini willow wreath gives the appearance of a nest.
I love using scarves as runners.
The kitchen was simply updated with new hand towels and fresh flowers . . .
and more lemons . . . and to finish it off, I rearranged and organized my open shelving to keep it simple and orderly.
Well, that’s it folks! I really hope you enjoyed the tour, and don’t fret, the fun doesn’t stop here! Please be sure to move on to the next amazing tour of my sweet friend Brandi at Don’t Disturb This Groove Blog.
