I know I’m not alone in wondering where the heck 2017 went? In a few days we’ll all be counting down and celebrating the year to come: 2018! Wow!!! With the new year rapidly approaching, I thought it might be fun to share some of my blog highlights from 2017! As usual, I’m quite thrilled to begin a new year. I’ve been working on some blog/home goals and I plan to share those with you soon. But for now, let’s see what content you all liked best this past year.
10.) The Boys’ Room Window: Addressing the Struggle Between Natural Light and Privacy
In this post, I discussed my obsessive need for natural light and my desire to provide privacy in my boys’ room. I partnered with blinds.com and decked out the boys’ room in some snazzy, modern and sleek new window shades, that we absolutely adore.
9.) BUILD: Wall-to-Wall Shelving
Creating wall-to-wall shelves in our basement, really transformed the space. In this post, I shared my process along with some goofs along the way. But the end result was well worth the hassle!
8.) Holiday Home Tour 2017 #ourhomesfortheholidays
For my 2017 holiday home tour, I teamed up with a bunch of talented bloggers in the #Ourhomesfortheholidays blog-hop, definitely some pin-worthy images in this hop.
7.) Shared Boys’ Room-Bloggers Heart Habitat
One of the projects that I’m most proud of from this year, is this Habitat House for #Bloggershearthabitat. There’s no better feeling than helping a well deserving family turn a house into a home.
6.) How to Make a 6-Frame Gallery Wall Out of Single Poster
DIY for the win! I was in need of filling this TV wall, and in a pinch, decided to chop up a clearance poster to create this fabulous gallery wall-Necessity is the mother of all invention, friends!
5.) Teen Boy’s Basement Bedroom Reveal
This project was a complete dream come true-for both my son and me! His dark and dim basement bedroom, got a modern and masculine makeover with help from Raymour and Flanigan.
4.) The Makings of A Simple and Sophisticated Master Bedroom with Raymour & Flanigan
Our master bedroom, made the top four on the list, with our Raymour and Flanigan queen upholstered bed being an absolute showstopper!
3.) DIY Dining Table | IKEA LERBERG
I’ve had my share of troubles this year, when it comes to our dining area, this DIY dining table project made table number 3 for the year–it’s the toughest space, guys!
2.) #SpringHomeLove: Spring Home Tour 2017
My Spring Home Love tour was quite a favorite–honestly, just looking at those palm leaves makes me realize why! Winter’s just begun and I am already yearning for spring!
1.) Organization: Entryway, Coat Closet and Mini Command Center
And numero uno on the list, was my organized entry and coat closet. I had so much fun creating this area. I took some risks and got creative with a sharpie marker, painted the door black, installed some shelves and it has LITERALLY changed our lives.
5.) Cozy Basement Family Room Reveal
In at number 5 for the year, was our Cozy Basement Family Room. This space is seriously the most comfortable spot in the house.
4.) How I “Tiled” My Floors on the Cheap-Trafficmaster Ceramica Tiles -2011
An oldie, but a goodie. My daughter and I worked together to tile an grout Trafficmaster Ceramica tiles directly over outdated ceramic tile–I get so many questions to this day about the installation process. These tiles are amazing, we now have them in our main level bathroom and basement stair landing.
3.) Quick bathroom makeover-So in LOVE . . . with Traffic Master Allure Vinyl Plank flooring
Another, flooring installation over tile. When we bought our house, the entire house was wall to wall white ceramic tile-which got old, pretty quickly. This project demonstrates how I installed traffic master vinyl plank flooring over ceramic tile.
2.) Shared Boys’ Room/Nursery reveal
Almost three years ago, a very preggo and nesting Carli, created a bright and cheerful red, white and blue themed bedroom for our then 6 year old to share with his baby brother. Although this spaced has changed quite a bit, the image of the room, still makes me smile.
1.) The Making of a Slip Covered Mantel-2011
And at number 1, my best friend’s mantel! My bestie asked me to come on over and HGTV her den-like living room, and created a beam like mantel to place over the existing concrete mantel. The transformation is real on this one!
I’ve really enjoyed seeing what interests you all. I hope you guys enjoyed these flashbacks! I can’t wait to share my 2018 home goals and plans. If there’s something you’d like to see more of, please comment below-I’d love to hear from you!
