Happy 2018 y’all! 2017 was an interesting year for us. I was blessed to create several new partnerships, as well as strengthen existing relationships with some amazing bloggers who have become very close friends. I’m looking forward to forging more relationships with other bloggers and content creators, and sharing new and fresh ideas with you for the year ahead! If you’re interested in collaborating and have some great ideas, shoot me a message, I’d love to hear from you!
2017 also held some disappointment for us with the home buying/selling process not going at all as planned, but we picked ourselves up and kept it moving!
And now, armed with the knowledge about our home value, some of the projects that we had planned for in 2017 were omitted from our list (such as the basement kitchenette). But for 2018 we will focus less on trying to over improve our home, and more more towards making smart updates–even if only for a short while longer (who knows what 2018 will bring!)
Anyway, let’s take a look at some goals I’ve set for our home for the year:
Kitchen Refresh:

Our kitchen will be undergoing some minor changes: I’ll be replacing the cabinet hardware, installing new counter tops and swapping out the shelf brackets for a more modern, streamlined look. We will also be saying goodbye to our bead board back splash.
Main Level Bathroom Refresh:

Our main level bathroom, was last updated about 5 years ago. We installed a new vanity and trafficmaster ceramica tile floors. While they have held up beautifully, we would like something a little lighter and brighter. The vanity was painted about 2 years ago in Behr Private Black and I still love the color choice, however we would like to update the counter to a more modern top. The light fixture will be updated and the bathroom will get fresh paint.
Basement homework/craft area
Last year, in the basement, my plan was to create a large craft area in a very underutilized area. I did create the desk, however, once we began the real estate process, this project was put on the back burner. I will be sharing more about outfitting this area with organization and functionality soon.

And that’s about it on the homefront, although I’m sure many smaller projects will creep up in between.
On the blog front . . .
My goals and plans for this year are to continue to take on new challenges and continue to create new content that inspires. Let me know in the comments below what you’d like to read about, I love to read your suggestions! And thanks again for visiting!
