Happy Tuesday friends! If you follow my Instagram stories, you may recall how I mentioned over the weekend that a i am working on a little project at #mamasnewhouse-My mom recently bought her first home just 15 minutes from us-which is awesome because we haven’t lived this close to each other in over 13 years!
Well I recently worked on a reveal of her living room and bedroom on my Instagram stories—you can check it out in my highlights: #mamasnewhouse. But now, we are working on a kids’ lounge, as we’ve realized in these short 2 months is that when we come to visit-the little ones really need their own place to hang out. Luckily, mom has a spare bedroom just perfect for something like this! I am calling this project the Modern Kids’ Lounge. This is the space from the real estate photos:
Inspiration for this space started with awesome Cameron sofa from Raymour & Flanigan.

Confession: I had actually chosen this sofa for my own home, but, when it arrived, I realized that the color and style was not the right fit for my home, one of the caveats of shopping online! However it is perfect for the Kids’ Lounge at #mamasnewhouse! It’s modern lines and tapered feet are so sleek and clean, I just love its style-and guess what? It’s really comfy too!
I then decided to utilize my Ikea Vittsjo nesting table by creating a hack (also shown in my IG stories) but, I promise I will share more on that later this week!
We wanted a fun space and fun is what we got with this mood board. Most items are very inexpensive , such as the project 62 rug, which really set the tones for the color scheme in this space and what really made my inspiration come alive. I’m hoping to purchase this Light, this amazing light fixture, these poofs, this console table, this shelf and a fun pillow for a pop of color and some DIY wall ledge shelves for behind the sofa.
I’m really excited about this project and can’t wait to get it going!

I hope you all have a great week!
