As many of you know, its been less than two months since we officially started moving into the new (old) house. And while I’d like to say that I’ve been taking my time to make it feel home-y, folks, the struggle is real, I want it all done like yesterday. And not only that, I want things to be new and different, but that’s just not realistic, especially considering the scope of our renovation. So for the most part, I’m making the most of what I have and enjoying every bit of this season SIMPLY.

Fall Front Door |
As I’ve mentioned before, fall is my favorite time of the year. And before we lived in this new neighborhood, I would drive down these streets and admire the old houses, with the sidewalks covered in colorful and crisp fall leaves. Living here now, feels truly magical.
When Abbie from The Gray Cottage reached out and asked me to join her in sharing a SIMPLE fall tour, I thought, well, SIMPLE is my jam, so why not?
My interpretation of SIMPLE is:
Clean, minimal, natural. Ooooh, I love me some natural decor. Nothing brings me greater satisfaction than filling a large vase with branches from the yard.
Framed Botanical Print/ Brass Planter (similar)/ (similar)/ (similar) |
In our foyer, a lantern, a few small pumpkins, an arrangement of branches, and a framed botanical print from Target goes a long way.
You may notice this chair from my daughter’s bedroom. I brought it down because we found a better solution for her little bedroom nook. I’ll be sure to share that with you all soon. |
Keeping cozy blankets with varying textures, draped over seating is a must (especially in older homes, lol).
The leaves on the trees of our street were turning a darker green and a crisp brown, so I used this as the inspiration for my color scheme.
Cactus |
In the dining room, some velvet pumpkins and a cute little festive banner adorned the butler’s cabinet.
There’s still a bit of finish work that needs to be done in this area. But overall it’s come along way.

Canister small/canister large |
After we installed the cabinets in our kitchen we ended up with some extra space where our old narrow kitchen island now stands. It’s sort of become a little charging station/command center, especially now with the addition of this Chalkboard Planner from Target.

Black/and Brass pendant light |
This shot wasn’t supposed to make the cut, but— it’s real, we make messes, and we use paper towels, so it stayed. I’m loving our new light fixture in here. It ties in the black and brass on our drawer pulls.

Adding a small orange mum, throw blanket and pillows to my navy and neutral decor, easily transitioned our side porch from summer to fall.
I lined these pumpkins along the porch railing for Kyle, he loves to sing that “5 little pumpkins song.
Well that’s it for now my friends. I hope you enjoyed my simple fall tour. Please be sure to check out my friend Abbie and Renee’s beautiful homes:
