If you’ve been following along for a while, you’d know that I have serious furniture commitment issues. There I said it, which means I’ve taken the first step to improvement in acknowledging it (but that’s a whole other post for another day, I promise I’ll come back to this soon). So we recently said bye-bye to my black velvet sectional in favor of a stunning new sofa from Raymour & Flanigan.
What prompted my most recent change was the addition of the new fire-place and built-ins (still a work in progress) in the living room, and realizing that with the new addition, we all wanted to gather in the space a whole lot more, and the sofa we had– just wasn’t cutting it. While it was large and accommodated us all, it wasn’t very comfortable, and the low profile didn’t really fit well with the new direction the living room was taking.
While on the hunt for a new sofa, I visited Raymour & Flanigan to check out a few sofas that I had my eye on.
If you’re on the hunt for a sleek and modern sofa, Raymour & Flanigan is sure to have a sofa to fit your style, and budget. Read on to see a few that were at the top of my list:
6 Modern and Stylish Sofas from Raymour & Flanigan
This sofa is the perfect mix of modern and classic, with its track arms and woven material, it’s sleek, yet also comfy which to me seems like quite an oxymoron. It has a nice depth which is perfect for curling up on with plenty of room to spare. Cates Sofa
You all know I am a huge fan of velvet upholstery for its durability, and this gorgeous sofa bares my name! It’s super comfortable, and the velvet tufting adds a super luxurious quality. Carley Sofa
This sofa is compact in size so it’s great for small spaces, but has great character with its cool upholstery, piping, tapered legs and fur textured accent pillows. Gillis Sofa
Contoured track arms-Check, Velvet Upholstery-Check, Tapered legs-Check, Oh how I truly adored the style of this sofa, however this sofa was not available in the showroom, and the hubs wanted to be able to give it the comfort test, but this totally would have been my first choice. Hanover Sofa
The low profile of this sofa brings modern contemporary style to any room, and the oversized pillows scream cozy., I think this sofa would be a perfect addition to a family room. Linus Sofa
I’m not sure if tufted leather sofas will ever go out of style. This sofa is a modern take on the Chesterfield, except it has sleek track arms and tapered legs, and is available in 4 different upholstery options. Donnie Sofa in Brown leather.
And Now for the Reveal . . .
On Instagram I asked you guys to guess which sofa I chose and a good majority of you guessed the Hanover (you know me so well), however, I actually let my husband make the final decision this time, and he fell in love with the Cates sofa, check it out:
I really love the upholstery of the Cates sofa—it’s woven, but has a soft brushed texture over it that makes it even more cozy. My kids love snuggling up in the pillows. And so far, it’s held up really well to four kids (ages 4-19, and their friends!)
Although I let the hubs choose the sofa, he didn’t get to make all of the decisions, I still ended up with one of my favs, The Carley living room chair and I was able to lounge in it within two days of picking it out in the showroom!
Yup, Raymour and Flanigan offers delivery NOW in 2 days or less, 7 days a week, with no assembly required!
Oh my goodness you guys, this chair is so soft and comfortable. It’s deep, but not too deep, and surrounds you in soft velvety comfort!
You know the feeling of moving into a new house and working really hard to make it feel like a home? Well I think I’ve finally achieved it in our living room thanks to Raymour and Flanigan partnering with me on this update.
What do you guys think? Which sofa would you have chosen?
