DIY Paint Splatter Tile Coasters

DIY tile coasters

Hi friends, every now and then I like to take on small crafts, fun little projects that are quick to do and keep me busy, projects where I don’t have to think too much–and this craft project is exactly that.  My husband recenty purchased these tiles to repair some loose ones in our shower, however, they were a little too small.  After seeing them on our console table by the door for a couple of days, I told him not to bother returning them, (since they were only about 15 cents a piece) because I had a perfect project in mind:  DIY Tile Coasters! It’s a little art project where there’s no right or wrong way to do it and you can let your creativity run wild.

I’m not sure if you caught my side porch post, but I figured these little coasters would be perfect for the porch.

If you’d like to create your own DIY Paint Splatter Coasters, read on 🙂

What you’ll need:

GATHER your supplies

CREATE graphic designs using painter’s tape. Be sure to run your nail across the painter’s tape to keep the paint from bleeding.

Once your designs have been created, carefully remove the painter’s tape.

SPLATTER:  To create the paint splatter look: dip your paint brush in water, then into the paint . . .

Tap your paint brush with an extra tile lightly over your tile coaster.

PROTECT:  Allow paint to dry. Once dry lightly spray 2 coats of of protective enamel over your tiles, letting them dry in between coats.

Once dry use hot glue to place felt dots on the underside of each coaster (on corners) to protect table from scratches.(Optional depending on table top).

I hope you enjoyed these diy tile coasters!
