If you know me, you know that everything I do is done pretty much on a whim, I wish I was the planning type but, I’m just not. And I don’t know if it’s just me, but going into hardware stores is just as dangerous as going into Target for me: I get so easily distracted! So while I was in the The Home Depot for cleaning supplies the other day, I ended up in the lighting aisle and decided to pick up some new wall lanterns to up our curb appeal! I just couldn’t take the dinky white and rusted lanterns that flanked the front door anymore. But, I must say, the ones I chose weren’t the only contenders. (Scroll down to check out a few of my top picks)
SO much better right? I’m just in love with the new wall lanterns. We also purchased the matching light post. This is one of the simplest ways to update your homes exterior.
One thing I’ve come to find with most homes is that the exterior lights never make a statement. I always recommend installing lights that are substantial and proportionate in scale to your front entry. Think of it as earrings for your front door!
We are working on a solution for the concrete steps, amongst other curb appeal things. I’m thinking to clad them in brick or even cover them in wood. I’m just not a fan of the concrete block look, but we’ll see.

So what do you guys think? What ways have you added curb appeal to your home?
