I’m sure by now everyone’s halls are decked with great care, but for posterity’s sake I’m putting this post here-hehe couldn’t help myself!
Last month I had a dream opportunity to partner with Crate & Barrel over on the ‘gram to show how to style 1 mantel 3 different ways using products from their holiday collections, and I had so much fun!
See below the three different mantel styles I chose to share.
Which style would you lean towards?

When all was said and done, this is what I eventually ended up with for our 2020 Holiday Mantel.
A little glitzy, little rustic, perfectly simple, and I love it!
Either way, it’s a nice improvement from where we started back in October.
Here are a few tips for mantel styling (holiday or otherwise):
- Start with a focal point, or backdrop, like a mirror, or large piece of art.
- Use items in varying heights like candle holders, stems in vases, or other pieces of art staggered.
- Place items asymmetrically to create interest and contrast.
- K.I.S.S. Keep it simple silly! There’s no need to overcrowd the mantel, choose a few pieces to display that you love, and be sure to give the eye a chance to rest.
I’m really hoping to squeeze in a few more holiday posts before Christmas, including a small holiday photo tour (fingers crossed).
