Hi friends! It’s been a few months since our oldest son moved into his garage studio/bedroom, and I’m pretty sure this is my first time I’ve actually shared it here on the blog. This past week I spent a little time adding a few cozy touches from Better Homes & Gardens.

Our son is 20, so at first I figured I’d let him make some design decisions for once, but he quickly realized that he preferred for me to do it, and I wasn’t mad about it at all😆.
First we focused on his bedding. To me there’s nothing like slipping into some super soft crisp white sheets to give you that upscale hotel feeling. The sheets are 400 Thread count Hygro Cotton, and they are a dream! (I even bought some for my bed as well!) We also picked up a lightweight waffle knit coverlet, some large waffle knit euro pillows, and to finish it off these reversible plaid pillows. I love that Better Homes & Gardens has been offering Euro pillows and shams at such reasonable prices.
Next we focused on the windows. We picked up some Better Homes & Gardens 2” Cordless Faux wood blinds, which were a great value at less than $20 each! Next I found these great striped curtains that come in a pair for about $16, such a steal!
I love that they coordinate so well with the neutral vibe in here, but also add a textural element to the space. They worked perfectly layered over the faux wood blinds.
I’ve had this lamp for a while now, but decided to add it to my son’s room. With a coat of paint and a quick switch of the lampshade, this lamp got a brand new look. I love this Better Homes & Gardens linen look empire lampshade, it’s a great size and beautiful quality.
We bought a rug a couple of months ago, but we were able to add more home-y details like some Better Homes & Gardens live plants and this really cool pedestal planter.
A room is never complete without a few plants in my opinion, but lucky for us Better Homes & Gardens has a great selection of indoor and outdoor plants (and planters to choose from. This Hyacinth basket is perfection with its modern weaving, and I also love that it comes with a plastic liner to protect it.
What to put over a bed? One of the trickiest decisions, but this large round mirror is the perfect scale to hang over a queen bed! I love its sleek, minimal frame.
I love Better Home & Gardens candles and I’m pretty sure I pick up a new one every time I go to Walmart—this time was no exception. I grabbed a Soft Cashmere and Amber candle because it’s one of my favorite scents and it also coordinates well with his room.
We still need to do some sprucing on the other side of the room—I’m thinking of a small living room set up for when his siblings come over to hangout. But overall we’re pretty happy with these updates. Stay tuned for a full reveal!
This is exactly the direction I wanted to go in for a bedroom and so THANK YOU for creating a shopping list (with links) for me 🙂 I LOVE this space!
