It’s the most wonderful time of the year! But if you struggle with gift ideas, it might not feel so wonderful! I know they always say “It’s the thought that counts,” but does it really if the gift seems like an afterthought? Today I’m sharing 3 candle gift basket ideas that you can easily recreate! These 3 baskets are so simple, but they’re such a sweet and thoughtful way to surprise someone who least expects it.
Yankee Candle’s Holiday Countdown Collection
Yankee Candle launched their Holiday Countdown Collection, and sent me three fragrances to try out: Movie Night Cocoa, Twinkling Lights, and Tree Farm Festival. This year for our holiday countdown, we are going to gift these gift baskets to a a few friends/family members. How sweet would it be to come home and find an unexpected gift waiting on your doorstep?
Gift Baskets Inspired by Yankee Candle’s Holiday Countdown Collection
For these three baskets I stuck with a color scheme inspired by the color of the candle and the jar’s design. I found some really cute and inexpensive crates at Walmart along with some paper shred, and then customized the gift basket based on the candle’s fragrance.
Twinkling Lights is a light, fresh and sweet fragrance with notes of almond, peach, jasmine, and amber. Perfect for your holiday gatherings.
For Twinkling Lights, it was a no brainer to add, well . . . twinkling lights. I was inspired by the gold in the jar’s design to create a basket with gold accents. I chose some gold truffles, and a set of 6 glittery snowflake ornaments, perfect for creating a small wintery vignette!
Then there’s Movie Night Cocoa: Movie Night Cocoa is a sweet fragrance with a blend of citrus, mint, sandalwood, vanilla and praline. My first impression of it is that it actually reminds me a lot of a white hot chocolate. Yum!
For this basket, I lucked out and found some pink candy canes, I tied up some mini marshmallows in a snack bag and picked up two super inexpensive mugs and stuffed them with a few packets of hot cocoa . . . and then I couldn’t help but add twinkle lights to this gift too, it just makes the basket feel that much more special! A simple and thoughtful basket of hot cocoa for two!
And last but not least, my favorite of the three: Tree Farm Festival. I’m obsessed with this candle. It smells like Christmas!!! Or a fresh cut Christmas tree at least. It has fresh notes of pine needles, cedarwood and magnolia. It’s the perfect candle for those who love the smell of fresh pine, but can’t/choose not to have a live tree.
For this basket, I picked up a few bottle brush trees, some chocolate mints, and . . . you guessed it more twinkle lights! I think one can never have enough bottle brush trees around the holidays because they’re so versatile and small enough that they can be tucked into any corner to create a festive little vibe!
Gift baskets are a really great way to spread holiday cheer, and are especially perfect for those on your list who are hard to buy for. I hope you found these ideas helpful.
