Oh happy day! I’m so excited to share the holiday decor touches I’ve added to our family room. This month Better Homes & Gardens challenged us to deck out a space inspired by our favorite holiday song. And for as far back as I can remember, the song “O Christmas Tree was one of my absolute favorites. I think we sang it in my 3rd grade choir concert?
Anyway, welcome to my “O Christmas Tree” themed Family room! I am so happy with how this turned out and am honestly going to be so sad when Christmas is over, because for the first time, this room feels full, like it’s supposed to.
First, I cozied up the sofa with Kyle’s new favorite blanket, a faux fur/sherpa throw, which is literally the softest blanket ever, and paired it with this woven knit pillow. I also added a cozy faux fur pillow.
In keeping with the tree theme, I styled the coffee table with this wooden charger, some bottle brush trees and my favorite mugs for hot cocoa.
I also added some fresh greenery to this Better Homes and Gardens vase, and we brought down our floor pillow from Cayden’s room for cozy movie nights.
Behind the sofa, I swapped out my DIY Art for a beautiful gallery wall of conifer tree prints which I purchased and printed from etsy. I am obsessed with these new Better Homes & Gardens frames (there are a great variety of sizes and styles online), and the style and quality of them is so stunning. These are 18″x18″ matted to 5×7.
Beneath the gallery wall, I styled my sofa table with some garland, and tucked in a collection of these beautiful gold lanterns. We love the warm glow they add to the family room at night.
This year we bought our first ever faux tree. I’ve always shied away from faux trees, but I love the fact that I can place it in areas where I couldn’t typically place a real tree (like closer to a heat source). I hadn’t actually planned to put it back there, but once my gallery wall was up, I knew the tree had to get tucked back there too, and I love it so much as a backdrop! We are still deciding on how to decorate it, but for now we are just enjoying the warm twinkling lights.
Lastly, I ordered this pair of beautiful hyacinth baskets which can also be used as planters as they have plastic inserts. I placed some faux trees in them and I think they were the perfect finishing touch.
I’m so happy with how this space turned out! It feels so cozy and warm now. Click on an image below to shop this post:
