Happy Wednesday friends! Only 4 more days until it’s officially Spring!  I can’t lie, I’m looking forward to Spring/Summer this year, more than ever. Last year we spent a short amount of time enjoying our patio, but the majority of the season was spent under construction with our siding renovation, so we are looking forward to a much calmer, more relaxing season on our patio with our new siding as a beautiful backdrop to our spring/summer activities.

This is what our patio looked like before our siding renovation.

This is what our patio area looked like during our renovation in June.

And here is what it looks like now!  This Spring/Summer, we plan to create a few outdoor zones for entertaining, lounging, cooking, and of course play! But the first area we want to address is our patio.  It’s currently just a small concrete slab (8’x16′), but our hope is to extend it at some point to accommodate more furniture/people.

We’re thinking that we’ll either add onto the concrete slab or we’ll install a deck on top of it, but there are still a bunch of details that we need to flesh out.

For now though,  I decided to order this beautiful conversation set from Better Homes & Gardens on Walmart.com. When it comes to outdoor furniture, I always lean towards conversation sets (especially for smaller areas) because they are really easy to mix and match with other outdoor furniture pieces, and therefore provide more flexibility to move and rearrange as needed.  The Aubrey 3 pc conversation set is a modern classic, which is super versatile, classy and oh-so comfortable (and did I mention affordable?!)

Better Homes & Gardens has an amazing selection of outdoor furniture and conversation sets to choose from, I gathered a few of my favorites to share with you below:

I added a few throw pillows to accessorize the set and to provide some extra comfort.  These throw pillows (with the exception of the black one) are actually meant for indoor use, but I always make sure to bring them in or cover them up when the weather is bad.

Since it literally snowed this past week, the idea of having any real greenery out here (other than evergreens) was not happening so I took advantage of Better Homes & Gardens’ great selection of faux greenery/topiaries.

I picked up the Lighted Round Topiary Plant to flank the patio doors, along with my go-to black lanterns.

Speaking of lanterns, Better Homes & Gardens recently came out with a bunch of nice new lanterns that I had my eye on, but I’ll probably add them later on in the season, once we come up with a more concrete plan for this space.

To add some warmth and ambiance we brought back our chiminea, which is a great fire pit alternative, since it has a smaller footprint and it takes up less space.

And while I’m on the topic of ambiance, I was so excited to see some of the new Better Homes & Gardens wood wick candles (and safety matches in that cute little jar) being sold at Walmart.

They all smell so good, I want them all!  They also have a nice selection of citronella candles and tabletop torches that come in really stylish containers, which I’ll definitely be adding to the patio before mosquito season approaches.

I also picked up a new set of shatter-proof stemless wine glasses and brought my potting bench over from last year to double as a bar for easy outdoor entertaining. Unfortunately, it’s currently out of stock, but I hope it comes back soon because it’s so, so good!

I’m so excited about how this space is looking so far, and I can’t wait to watch it evolve over the season! Are you working on any outdoor Spring sprucing yet?
