Transitioning from Summer to Fall with The Studio Mcgee Collection
In this post, I’m sharing how I styled a few new pieces from the Studio McGee fall collection at Target in our breakfast nook and mudroom.
At this point, y’all are probably wondering if we have any other rooms in our house besides the kitchen, lol. We do, of course, but, this is where we spend the most time, so I decided to start incorporating some subtle fall décor accents from the Studio McGee Collection at Target into this area first, plus you can get a peek at my new dining table!
The Threshold™ designed with Studio McGee section at Target is one of the first areas of the store I run to when I’m looking to update my spaces with fresh, new home decor. I just love Studio McGee’s relaxed, but cozy style and how they make it easy to pull together a cohesive look for the changing seasons.

Their fall collection for Target is all about cozy textures for basically any space, and with the wide variety of home decor items available at Target like artwork, pillows, furniture, and accessories, Studio McGee at Target provides approachable design options at affordable prices.

When I decorate for fall, I usually try to find ways to incorporate items that work well with the décor I already have. I love neutrals, (surprise, surprise), so with the neutral foundation that I started with, I was able to easily add in some warmth by including some of the beautiful muted terracottas and greens which are so prevalent in this collection.
On the table, I made use of the large footed ceramic camel vase to hold fresh foraged branches from the yard (inside a smaller vase), but it could easily hold its own as shelf or mantel decor. The leaves in our area haven’t quite begun to turn, so I snipped a few of these branches—I think the speckled look creates quite a bit of interest here. Speaking of branches, this collection has several faux greenery options to choose from as well.
The tone of green in this wide-rimmed bowl was too good for me to pass up, I love it paired with the earthy brown pears–and I can see how this bowl will easily transition to other areas of my home for different seasons/uses.
For the pillows, I could have easily flanked the window with the same pillow combos on each side of the bench, but I love a more eclectic and collected look and opted to instead use different patterns with a repeated color story rather than just mimicking the same items. Gahhhh, this whole look is A MOOD that I’m here for this season!
As we head towards the mudroom wall (remember, how this doorway didn’t exist around this time last year?), I added this new rug and this beautiful basket to hold a new rubber plant that I just couldn’t resist. I don’t know y’all, I think these two were made for each other. If you happen to be live plant averse, The Threshold x Studio Mcgee fall collection also offers a rather convincing rubber tree option,
I really love the tone and texture of this basket, the weave is so unique and beautiful, not to mention the shape—I just love fat baskets that taper at the top.
Here you can see a close-up of the rug and see how the colors and tones are repeated, also, how perfectly does our mudroom door coordinate with the fall themes I have going on?

In the fall collection, there’s also warmth brought in through brass accessories, like trays, trinkets, and art frames. I started out using this little tray to hold apples, and then realized it better suits us as a small catch-all right off of the mudroom.
Well, that’s it for now friends! I’m off to go see what other items from the Studio McGee collection I can add to other areas of my home for fall!
