It’s getting pretty chilly in New England so I recently spent some time putting away my summer clothes and then revamping my fall/winter wardrobe. I have to say, one of my favorite Fall/winter clothing essentials is a black turtleneck. I picked up this fitted one at Walmart this week, and because of its lightweight and fitted style, it’s perfect for layering. The layered look has become my go-to lately, (especially since I’ve added a few pounds over the past couple of years,) AND layered outfits tend to look more polished, so it’s a win-win! So today I’m sharing 4 ways to style a black fitted turtleneck with a few other super cute items available at Walmart.
Walmart has really been knocking it out of the park lately when it comes to fashion. With brands like Free Assembly, Scoop, Time & Tru, Madden NYC and so many more, there are tons of chic and stylish items to choose from.
4 Ways to Style a Black-Fitted Turtleneck
Casual
I love layering a turtleneck with a shacket. This plaid flannel shacket is comfy and warm for fall and winter. I think it runs a little big, so I sized down to a Medium for a more fitted look.
The jeans are high-rise, curvy jeans also by Time & Tru, one of my favorite jeans lines from Walmart. I’m wearing a 14, but definitely could have sized down to a 12. I paired this outfit with chunky black Chelsea boots, for a casual look. I’m obsessed with this crossbody bag, and it comes in multiple colors.
Casual Date Night
For this look, I grabbed a pair of my favorite high-rise cropped mom jeans from No Boundaries ( I sized up in these and got a size 15 for a comfortable fit, I’m normally a 12/14) I tucked the turtleneck in and then belted the jeans with this super cute leather belt. And because I love a flat, I paired this look with these cute and comfy dress scrunch loafers.
Can we just talk about this viral Free Assembly double-breasted coat? I say it’s viral because I’ve noticed so many people with it on Instagram. If it’s not viral yet, it should be because it’s that GOOD! It’s made so beautifully and has a nice weight to it for only $70! I ordered this in an XL for a slightly oversized look. It’s a great coat to take from day to night as you can dress it up or down. I accessorized this look with these Time and Tru Rectangular Cutout Earrings. I love love, love Time and Tru jewelry at Walmart. Whenever I’m in a pinch I always know that I can run into Walmart and find something cute and stylish to coordinate with any outfit.
Wear to Work
The second look is a little out of my comfort zone because I don’t typically wear skirts, but for some reason, I couldn’t resist this plaid wrap-style skirt. I sized down in this skirt and got a Medium for a more fitted look and decided to wear a belt to accentuate my waist a bit.
The turtleneck with the midi-length skirt is such a classic look. I paired it with these Madden NYC Women’s Two Band Heeled Sandals because I love an ankle strap shoe with a midi skirt, but some ankle booties would be equally adorable. Lastly, I layered this black ribbed duster cardigan (size Large) over the turtleneck. I think this look is perfect for work, church, or a holiday party.
Lunch Date/Shopping
Friends, flare legs are back! I don’t think I’ve worn this style jean in over 10 years! So I decided to give them a try. These jeans are by Sofia Vergara. They are super stretchy, but I wish I would have sized up in them for a more comfortable fit. These are a size 12.
I paired them with these Time and Tru camel colored booties and belt, and this super cute tote bag by Scoop.
