After three years of planning, designing, and plenty of DIY projects, our mudroom transformation is finally complete! I couldn’t be more excited to share the final reveal of this space that has truly been a labor of love.

If you recall, it all began with the decision to open up a wall between our kitchen and mudroom, which instantly made both spaces feel more connected and spacious. With that wall gone, we moved on to adding new drywall and building a custom storage bench. This bench has been a game-changer, providing ample storage for shoes, bags, and everything else that comes with managing a busy household of six. (You can see more of the phase 1 makeover here)
Next, I tackled the flooring. I installed new floors with plans to paint them later, and I’m so glad I did. The final result is a checker and spatter paint treatment that adds a unique and playful touch to the room. It’s a subtle detail, but it makes the space feel truly personalized.

One of my favorite additions to this space is the window plant shelves that fit right into the curved wood valance(that came with the house).

These shelves not only give my plants a sunny spot to thrive but also bring a bit of nature into the room, making it feel warm, and inviting and add so much charm.

Closing off the pantry door was a big decision, but it allowed me to create a built-in shoe shelf that keeps our entryway clutter-free.

I decided to paint the entire room a moody muddy green, called Patio Stone by Behr, which ties everything together beautifully. This color puts the MOOD in MOODy and brings so much warmth and character to the room, making it a cozy and inviting space to walk into.

The peg coat rack was another fun project—practical for hanging coats, hats, and purses, but also adds a touch of charm.
And let’s not forget about the ceiling! I installed a wood beadboard ceiling, which adds texture and a bit of old-world character that I absolutely love.

To finish things off, I created a drop zone complete with sunglass storage, ensuring that everything has its place and mornings run a bit smoother.
This little nook has quickly become one of my favorite features, keeping our everyday essentials organized and within reach.
This mudroom has come a long way, from a neglected space to one that’s now functional, stylish, and full of personality.

Every project, every little detail, has come together to create a space that truly feels like us. I’m thrilled to finally share this transformation with you, and I hope it inspires you to take on that project you’ve been dreaming about—even if it takes a little longer than expected!

Thanks for following along on this journey, and welcome to our new mudroom!
