From time to time, I come across ordinary items that, with just a small adjustment, can be transformed into something extraordinary. That’s exactly how I felt when I spotted these charming fluted glasses at Walmart.

Transforming a Drinking Glass into a Vase

They were too prettyto be used as just a drinking glass, I wanted to use them to display snippings from my garden.  ANd while I could have left well enough alone, I had to add a little pizazz to elevate them (quite literally). SO today I’m showing you how I transformed these fluted drinking glass into a beautiful vases and votive holders by adding a small pedestal base.

Materials You’ll Need:

Step 1: Choose Your Glass and Votive Holder

Start by selecting a drinking glass that suits your style and the size of the bouquet you’d like to display. Likewise, choose a small votive holder that can fit snugly on the base of your glass. You can find a wide variety of shapes and designs to complement your style.

I chose one that is actually a pumkin shot glass, but it honestly looked like a votive holder to me.

Step 2: Gluing the Votive Holder

Lay down some newspaper or a use a paper plate to catch any glue spills. Apply a generous amount of strong adhesive (like E6000) to the bottom rim of the votive holder.

You want a secure bond without any excess glue oozing out.  I used hot glue for mine, but it really depends on your intended use.

Step 3: Attach the Votive Holder

Carefully place the votive holder, adhesive-side down, onto the base of the drinking glass. Gently press it into place to ensure a good bond. The adhesive will need some time to set, so hold the votive holder in place for a minute or two.

Step 4: Allow Time to Dry

Set your newly created vase aside and allow it to dry (according to directions)

Step 5: Lastly, Add Your Blooms

Once your DIY vase is dry and ready, you can add your choice of fresh  flowers.

I made a couple of different variations.

Voilà! You’ve turned a drinking glass into an elegant vase! This DIY project is not only budget-friendly but also a fantastic way to add a touch of charm and creativity to your home decor and would make a great addition to your holiday tablescapes.
